Dr. Leon Threatt is a candidate for Mayor of Matthews, NC. Dr. Threatt is undeniably known for his faith, passion for reconciliation and unity, and genuine love for all people. He possesses a commitment to enable his fellow man to reach their full potential. He is committed to bring his tested leadership ability, proven character and integrity, and sound judgment to the citizens of Matthews, NC.
In November 2023, the citizens of Matthews elected Dr. Threatt to the Matthews Board of Commissioners, where he has diligently served since then.
There is still much work to be done in leading Matthews forward and Leon Threatt has decided to continue his commitment to serve, encourage and empower the good people of Matthews by seeking to serve as the next mayor of Matthews.
Dr. Threatt is quoted as saying, “No organization, group or team can consistently operate above and beyond its leadership!” Leadership really does matter.
The future for Matthews is bright, hopeful and encouraging. We are blessed to have such a wonderful community to live, work, shop, and play in. It’s important that we operate as good stewards of what we have been given.
It’s important to remember that elections have benefits and/or consequences. The choices we make in this season will shape the future of Matthews for many years to come. My hope and prayer is that we would take the time to listen and learn where the proposed candidates truly stand on the issues and ensure they have the character to do what they say.
